Our trained physical therapists and assistants provide patients with comprehensive treatment services that are both effective and reliable. In fact, the Performance Physical Therapy team is experienced with treating a wide variety of diagnoses and movement disorders. Angie Beaver
MPT Owner
Angie Beaver grew up in South Charleston, WV. She received a BS degree in Biology from King University in 1992 and a Master of Physical Therapy degree from Shenandoah University in 1997. She moved to the Beckley area in 1997 and worked for Raleigh General Hospital for over 18 years. She has worked in the acute care, nursing home, and outpatient orthopedic settings and spent several years doing wound care. Her heart is in seeing people function at their highest potential. She has been married to James for over 20 years and they have a daughter and a son. She loves the Lord and seeks to honor Him with her life.
Matt Lacek
PTA, GFS-NASM – Clinic Manager
Matt has been working in the field for over 25 years and has worked in multiple settings including acute care, skilled care, outpatient, and sports medicine. He served seven years in the U.S. Navy and received his physical therapy certification while serving his country. He is a graduate of Shady Spring High School and the Army School of Health Sciences in San Antonio, Texas. Matt worked at Raleigh General Hospital Sports Medicine for 17 years and served as Athletic Trainer at Liberty High School for over a decade. He also coached baseball at Liberty High School for several years.
Matt has been married to his wife Beverly for many years and they have a daughter and two sons. Both sons are serving our country, one in the U.S. Navy and one in the U.S. Army. Their daughter remains at home and is currently a student. Matt is a WVSSAC football and baseball official and enjoys being able to remain around sports while officiating local middle and high school events. Matt is very active at Cross Point Church, where he plays bass guitar on the Praise Team and enjoys golf, fitness, and WVU sports.
Heather Gragg
MPT CLT-LANA
Heather is a 2002 Physical Therapy graduate from West Virginia University. She has 13 years of experience treating patients with orthopedic conditions and movement disorders. Heather is proficient at treating low back pain and sacroiliac disorders. She has been treating patients with lymphedema for 12 years and became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist in 2012. Heather lectures regionally about lymphedema and lymphatic therapy. In December 2015, Heather received her LANA (Lymphology Association of North America) Certification.
Lisa Canada
PTA CLT
Lisa is a graduate of Wyoming East High School and from Mountain State University. Soon after graduating from the PTA program at MSU she began working at Raleigh General Hospital as an acute care therapist and eventually in the Sports Medicine & Rehab clinic. Lisa earned a certification in lymphedema management (CLT) and is proficient in pre- and postpartum pain relief techniques. Lisa continues to reside in Wyoming County with her husband and children.
Julian Yancey
Office Manager
Julian is an office coordinator that began her career in 1998. She is a graduate of Shady Spring High School with a medical assistant degree from ACT.
Julian began her experience as an office coordinator at Raleigh General Hospital in 1998. She has over 17 years of experience in managing the daily operations of a physical therapy clinic. Specializing in insurance verifications and authorizations Julian works closely with clinical staff to customize each treatment plan in order to maximize care that best utilize the patient’s insurance coverage.
Julian lives in the Beckley area and has been married to her husband Patrick for almost two decades. Although they do not have any children of their own, God has blessed them with a special nephew. She enjoys crafting and spending time with her family.
Jocelyn Bond
MPT
Jocelyn received her MPT from WVU in 2006 and is a graduate of Independence High School. She has spent the majority of her career in the outpatient setting and is a certified LSVT BIG clinician for treatment of Parkinson’s disease. She is married to her high school sweetheart Phillip. They have three sweet boys, Sawyer, Gunner, and Hudson, and two fur babies. They are active at Crab Orchard Baptist Church where she teaches children’s church. Jocelyn also loves to read and watch her boys play sports.
Vickie Mankin
PTA, CLWT
Vickie has been PTA for nearly 20 years and has experience in many settings including outpatient, inpatient acute care, and sports medicine. She is a certified lymphedema specialist as well as a certified wound specialist. Vickie enjoys treating all types of injuries but has a special interest in foot ailments. She has a servant’s heart and loved to help people regain their function and quality of life. Vickie and her husband, Matt, live in Beckley and have four daughters. Matt and Vickie are active at I Heart Church in Bradley and enjoy spending time with each other and their daughters.
Jean Lippard
Office Staff
Jean and her husband Jim live in Daniels, WV, and have one son Ryan. They enjoy camping and spending time together. They are members of Memorial Baptist Church. She also enjoys watching Oklahoma Football and Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns games. They also enjoy attending WVU games, where their son is a cheerleader.
Paul Bailey
MS, ATC, PTA, CES-NASM
Paul has been working in the field of rehabilitation for over 30 years. He holds an AS in Physical Therapy Assistant from NRCC, a BA in Athletic Training and a MS in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Adult Fitness from Marshall University. He received advanced certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist through NASM. He has served as head athletic trainer and professor at West Virginia Wesleyan College; adjunct professor at Concord College, community athletic trainer for many local high schools and colleges, and Director of Rehab Services at Raleigh General Hospital. Paul enjoys working with athletic injuries but also has an interest in foot, hand, and shoulder injuries.
Paul and his wife, Maria have two sons, Ian and Aedan. He and his family attend Daniels Bible Church where he has served as an elder and currently teaches Sunday School. His interests include bicycling (he has cycled the entire Blue Ridge Parkway – 575 miles), martial arts, teaching, and spending time playing games with his family.
Kaitlyn Brown
PT, DPT
Katie began her physical therapy career as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), graduating from Mountain State University in 2012. She worked as a PTA in both outpatient and geriatrics/long term care for four years prior to furthering her education to become a Physical Therapist. Kaitlyn attended the Physical Therapy program at the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio, graduating with a doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2018. She is married to Jason Brown and they live in Summersville, WV. She enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking with her two dogs and fishing/hunting with her husband.
Courtney Cook
Personal Trainer (PT-NASM)
Courtney is a certified NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Personal Trainer and has a BS in Exercise and Sport Leadership from Warner University in Florida. Courtney ran cross country in high school and college and competed for the Warner University CrossFit team her senior year. She grew up in Daniels and attended Shady Spring High School. She is very active in the youth ministry at Cross Point Church in Beckley and loves mentoring young people. She enjoys playing video games, watching movies, and reading books. Courtney is an avid CrossFit athlete and is currently training for American Ninja Warrior and dreams of competing on the show in the future.
Ryan Wade
Certified Personal Trainer
Ryan is an experienced Personal Trainer and Strength Coach. He has helped many athletes in Southern West Virginia improve their strength and flexibility to help them excel in sports. Many of his athletes have gone on to play sports at the collegiate level. His experiences come from working in gyms and involvement with many different area sports teams. Ryan has coached high school football and basketball and has been strength coach for the basketball team at Woodrow Wilson High School & Greater Beckley Christian School for several years. He is currently a Middle School teacher and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education from Marshall University. Ryan is a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Concord University.
Rusty Nelson
DPT
Rusty is a 2003 graduate of Wyoming East High School and a 2008 Graduate of Concord University with a BS in Athletic Training. He completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at WVU in 2011 and has been practicing mainly in outpatient orthopedics since that time. Rusty has also sought continued training in field of Strength and Conditioning and is a USAW Level 1 Sport Performance Coach as well as Clinical Athlete Weightlifting Coach Certified. Rusty resides in Lewisburg WV with his wife, Nadine, daughter Raelyn and his two Hugo and Rogue.
